About McMillinery

My love of fashion and design began early. In my younger years I spent time studying at Central Saint Martins in London, before life took me in a rather unexpected direction when I was accepted onto the UK Stunt Register.

For the next decade I worked as a professional stunt double on major Warner Bros productions and television, an exciting and unforgettable chapter of my life.

After retiring from stunt work, I returned to another long-standing passion, horses and racing. It was through attending race meetings and special events that my interest in millinery truly began.

What started simply as a fun project to create my own fascinator for an event quickly grew into something much more. In less than a year, that small hobby developed into a genuine passion and led to the creation of McMillinery. I continue to develop my craft and take great care in selecting materials and shaping each piece by hand. What I enjoy most is helping clients find the perfect headpiece to complete their look. Whether for a wedding, the races, or another special occasion, there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone feel confident, elegant and ready for their big event.

With strong ties to the racing world, McMillinery focuses on distinctive, handcrafted headpieces designed for race days, weddings and special occasions, combining individuality, elegance and a touch of theatrical flair.

I have a particular fondness for working with peacock and pheasant feathers, drawn to their natural structure and the extraordinary iridescent colours that nature creates so effortlessly. These remarkable materials often inspire the movement, texture and character found in many of my designs.

Each McMillinery piece is created with the aim of offering something unique, striking and memorable, designed to complement both the occasion and the person wearing it.
